چکیده

It is well known that there exist some types of the most frequent errors made by human operators during transmission of data which it is possible to detect using a code with one check symbol. We prove that there does not exist an n-T-code that can detect all single, adjacent transposition, jump transposition, twin, jump twin and phonetic errors over an alphabet that contains 0 and 1. Systems that detect all single, adjacent transposition, jump transposition, twin, jump twin errors and almost all phonetic errors of the form a0 → 1a, a 6= 0, a 6= 1 over alphabets of different, and minimal size, are constructed. We study some connections between the properties of anti-commutativity and parastroph orthogonality of T-quasigroups. We also list possible errors of some types (jump transposition, twin error, jump twin error and phonetic error) that the system of the serial numbers of German banknotes cannot detect.

On check character systems over quasigroups and loops

In this article we study check character systems that is error detecting codes, which arise by appending a check digit an to every word a1a2...an−1 : a1a2...an−1 → a1a2...an−1an with the check formula (...((a1 · δa2) · δ 2a3)...) · δ n−2an−1) · δ n−1an = c, where Q(·) is a quasigroup or a loop, δ is a permutation of Q, c ∈ Q. We consider detection sets for such errors as transpositions (ab → ba...

A Class of Quantum LDPC Codes Derived from Latin Squares and Combinatorial Design

In this paper we construct a class of regular Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes derived from Latin squares. The parity check matrices of these codes are constructed by permuting shift-orthogonal Latin squares of order n in blockrows and block-columns. I show that the constructed LDPC codes are self-orthogonal and their minimum and stopping distances are bounded. This helps us to construct a...

Vector symbol decoding with list inner symbol decisions

Abstract Error correcting codes can play a key role in improving the efficiency and reliability of wireless communications. Concatenated codes have the advantages that: 1) breaking the task into stages simplifies decoding, and 2) performance is good against clustered bit errors, fading and bursty interference. Reed-Solomon codes (maximum distance codes) have been popular as an outer code of con...

An approach to fault detection and correction in design of systems using of Turbo ‎codes‎

We present an approach to design of fault tolerant computing systems. In this paper, a technique is employed that enable the combination of several codes, in order to obtain flexibility in the design of error correcting codes. Code combining techniques are very effective, which one of these codes are turbo codes. The Algorithm-based fault tolerance techniques that to detect errors rely on the c...

A Low-Complexity CLSC-LMMSE Detection Algorithm for Non-binary LDPC Coded MIMO System ⋆

In this work, an iterative detection and decoding (IDD) scheme which is based on the non-binary low density parity check (NB-LDPC) codes and the component-level soft interference cancellation based linear minimum mean square error (CLSC-LMMSE) detection is proposed. First, a CLSC-LMMSE detection algorithm is derived to enhance the performance of the SIC-LMMSE based detection. Second, non-binary...
